Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Today is my beautiful mom's birthday. Happy Birthday mama!!! We had a little celebration yesterday in our house. My tita prepared the food and it was so good. For the whole day, we made "eating" a new hobby. I think I ate 9 times yesterday (full meals), not counting the ones where I wasn't on the dining table.

To make up for my gluttony, I only ate veggies for dinner earlier this evening. I bought it from Rustan's at Greenbelt one, only for 138.00 Pesos. The name is "goolai" and you can probably buy it on any grocery store (naks nag-plug). Also, I went jogging at the park near our office building. It was my first time there. I saw a lot of kids playing with each other and some grown-ups too "playing" each other (hahaha). Of course it's a Public park and Public Display of Affection is allowed (blech).

Going back to my mom, she heard the news yesterday that her "Inay" (my lola in Laguna) is on a comma. Three or four years ago she fell on a shallow cliff because of a stroke while taking care of the garbage. My tito's and tita's were surprised back then because there were no broken bones or physical damage visible to her body. One thing they noticed was the change in her behavior. Since then, she's been behaving like a kid and doesn't remember anything between the time of her accident until the present. The doctor's explanation in the province was a stroke but my guess would be anterograde amnesia (just like Drew's in 50 First Dates). It's possible because she keeps on picking trash and goes out of the house to put them away despite the strictness of my Lolo (this was her last activity before the accident). I haven't heard any news since this morning. I hope she's okay.

For my mother, this is my message for you:

I wish you more happiness (I know you're happy-so "happier") and good health. I'm so proud of you even if others have doubted your abilities in the past. Thank you for doing your best for me (for us) and being a good partner to dad. I love you Mom. ALWAYS.

Black Saturday

My sisters and I just came from the grocery. While we were putting our items on the counter, I heard a man saying "Uy sunog oh!", as he walked pass me while looking at the view outside. I also went out from the grocery store to check and I saw a thick, black and huge smoke coming out from somewhere. The view wasn't clear where it was really coming from because there's a church and a couple of houses blocking our line of sight. But I was sure of one thing, it's not just barbecue or garbage being burned.

On our way home we learned that it was a little bit near our place. A good estimate would be one kilometer away from our village. When we arrived home, I headed immediately to our terrace to see if I can get a better view. lt was the same thick, black and huge smoke that I saw from the grocery and the only difference now is I was closer. I took two shots using my phone and went inside because of the bad smell. My Tita told me that it was a shoe factory and that explains the foul smell of burned leather. As I'm writing this blog, I can still hear the sirens of the fire trucks. I just hope that no one died nor got injured severely. I can't help but to be silent and say "Thank you" to God that it's not my family and it's not our home.

Good Friday

I am using Multply's blog more than my Blogger account nowadays. It's so nice for Multiply to have a "cross-posting" feature to other blog sites which I just discovered a few minutes ago. In this way, I can just write anything here and it will show up on my blogger site or vice-versa.

Maybe some of the people that I know are probably enjoying the beach now. As for me, I will be enjoying the rest of my vacation here at home. Thank God our "JOSEPH THE DREAMER" play is already finished. It was held in our church early this morning and I portrayed the role of Reuben , the eldest brother of Joseph. Too bad we don't have any video footage but I hope I will be able to post some of the pics here. We had our applause after because they didn't recognize the line that I paraphrased. It was totally diffrerent from the original one but it made sense .

Before the week is over, there's a lot of "fun" stuff that I plan to do such as, cleaning my room, remote server monitoring, cancel internet subscription, buy guitar case and car wash (sounds fun right?-). At least I can watch TV and play PSP as long as I want. BTW, I'm now addicted to GOD OF WAR. The fight animation and story line is just fantastic. I'm not really into RPG genre when it comes to gaming because I prefer first-person shooting and sports simulation games. This game is just different from the other RPGs so I guess this one would be an exception.
