Reminded Of The Truth

I'm doing my best to live an honest and clean life. But most of the time, my description would fit just like the prodigal son in the Bible. Whenever I fall, guilt and condemnation steal my joy. The past few days were so amazing. God encouraged me through His words and reminded me again of a few "Truths" that I seemed to have forgotten.

I was reminded that....

1. I belong to God and I am one of His children - This means that no matter how sinful I have become, I can come to His throne of Grace to ask for forgiveness and I will be forgiven.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

2. I cannot continue to live a life of sin because it breaks God's heart and it will destroy me in the long run.

3. There's freedom in Christ but I need to be watchful and strengthen myself (pray, fast, fellowship, read His Word) that I may not be a slave again to the things that enslaved me before (sin, regrets, people's expectations, pride, fear, passivity)

4. God has a good plan/purpose for my life. There's a reason that God put me in our local church, workplace and hometown.

5. I need to be trained, molded and shaped to be used effectively <<--I need guidance on this.

6. I need to trust Him because it will be for my own good. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

I am still a work in progress. Thank God for using these great men to continue to influence me.

Janna

Last Sunday, our relatives from Laguna paid a visit to our humble abode. We all had lunch together and held a "videoke-challenge" afterwards. I was challenged by my 6-year-old niece into a singing duel (hehe..patulan daw ba). I think she sang something from Carol Banawa and got grade of 95. When it was my turn, she handed me the "magic" mic and teased me that I would pick a low-pitch song. I wasn't prepared and couldn't pick anything from the song book.

I decided to let her choose for me and she picked "To Love You More" by Sarah Geronimo. My niece thought that it will be difficult for me since it's a high-pitch song, atleast for women, and wasn't aware that it's the exact opposite if a man would sing it. It was so funny seeing the expression on her face when the grade, higher than hers, flashed on the screen. Jana sings very well for a six year old. She looks like a star and knows how to emote while singing.

"Hindi ako magpapatalo sayo!", she shouted and even sang the same song just to prove she's better. What a competitive (or should I say combative) type of girl! Hahaha. Too bad for her the mic malfunctioned and did not show her grade after finishing it. Well I think it's better that way because she wasn't really familiar with the lyrics. I told her that the score would be 100 if the mic didn't go wrong. I faked my defeat just to make her feel better and I think she would have easily won if we were the same age.

U-Turn

I enjoy driving in the morning when the traffic is just smooth and I don't have to mind other drivers cutting me on my lane. A traffic-free morning usually makes me think about a lot of things, reflect and just have a free talk with God.

Traffic is really heavy in C5, specially in the mornings, that's why I take the Ortigas-to-Edsa route as an alternate. When there's traffic jam, I just turn on the radio or listen to my mp3 player to kill boredom.

Although this kind of problem was never really removed, let's give credit to Bayani Fernando for at least being able to minimized it. I have to admit that the U-turn slots he set up really works for some areas.

I realized that we can also put the same "U-turn" principle in our lives. According to Dictionary.com, U-turn is "a U-shaped turn made by a vehicle so as to head in the opposite direction from its original course". We all have our different journeys in life and the direction we're heading will either lead us to a better place or our own demise. My Bible says "A man reap what he sows". Let us not fool ourselves that someday we'll hit the jackpot prize by continually doing the wrong things.

The opposite direction leads to God. " For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" - This sounds like a good deal to me. Heading to God doesn't mean the road will not be bumpy (believe me it could be bumpier than before). During the trip, you might ran out of gas and tires could be flat, but the good news is, He wants us to reach our destination and that's with Him. He promises to be with us in all our battles, problems, temptations and the worst combined altogether ("I will never leave your nor forsake you"). Decide to make the U-turn now before you crash and make your life a total wrecked.

Papaantok....

Kagagaling ko lang sa basketball. We do this every Friday in Marikina Sports Center. Hindi talaga ako makatulog kapag katatapos lng mag exercise. Kaya magbblog na lang ako.

I discoverd a new "Gotohan" in Concepcion. Nagyaya pa kase si Jason na kumain at magchikka chikka konti. It was already 1am when we arrived at the venue. Astig! It was kinda funny because we're supposed to order "Goto" in a "Gotohan" but we didn't.

Now I'm thinking what I'm gonna do later. I'm online right now in YM but I'm signed in as invisible.

I saw a lot of good reviews for Ironman. We planned to watch it last Thursday but we weren't able to because he picked up my sister in Cubao bus terminal.

One of the departments (PMAX) transferred to the new building. Anyways, we have a schedule on who will be assigned on the new building, so I'll be joining them again after 15 days. I even invited the people from HR and Finance to eat dinner. Mukhang nagddiet sila e. I'm just not sure kung sa food or sa wallet.

My sisters and I are enjoying the new DSL here at home. So far, PLDT's MyDSL service is good. Nakapagdownload na nga ako ng isang movie from Youtube. "Wala na bang Pagibig" is the title. Seryoso. An old friend asked me to do this because she can't find it on video stores. Kulet talaga nun.

I'm reading a new book now. The title is Wild at Heart by John Eldridge. It is encouraging and inspiring at the same time. Nawawala na daw kase ang "REAL MEN" in our society. Kaya we need to step up and be the "Man" with a vision and purpose.Actually it's an old book. Hindi ko pa din natatapos. Me pagka ningas kugon ako when it comes to reading books. Yun Purpose Driven Life nga e.

It's already 3:13 in the morning. I think I can sleep now. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
