Getting Off The Bus

I never expected that my journey would end this way. After obtaining some information during my contract signing with the new company, I am convinced that my departure may be abrupt but it was not an accident.

The Lord is really good to me for providing another "Bus" to ride. I will surely miss all the passengers I met and the experiences you have shared with me. I have made a lot of friends, had brothers, a sister, a lover and even enemies during the trip. The journey is now a part of me and it taught me lessons not only in the IT field but in almost all aspects of life.

The reason I'm leaving is not because "I want to" but because "I need to". I don't feel comfortable anymore on where I seat and my view outside on where the bus is going is kind of blurred. The painful part is the driver doesn't seem to care about me. Maybe for him I'm unimportant or not as vital unlike the other favorite passengers. I thought that the Bus wasn't like this before but maybe my eyes weren't just opened yet at that time until now.

It might not be a happy ending but I still thank these three people responsible for getting me inside. The first one is a woman (stranger) who already left before my journey even started. The second one is a wise man. Aside from better opportunities, he left because he couldn't stand the driving skills of the driver anymore. Last but not the least is a happy girl, who is now standing in the edge of the bus door, holding on with one hand, waiting for the perfect opportunity to jump.

It has been a wonderful ride for two years but here is where I'm getting off. Goodbye guys and until we meet again. Take care!

My brothers (Mike, James and Mark)

Sorry nauna ako ha. Tumupad naman ako sa usapan e. We all agreed na walang aalis hanggat walang lilipatan. Si Mike and hindi tumupad. Hehehe. New Mobile Phone for Daddy

I just noticed, even before, going back to the days when 3210 was the "Big Thing", that our parents always get the old models of mobile phone while we (their children) acquire the brand new ones. I remember my sister having a Samsung Unit with camera while mom had a 4th-hand-me-down 3210 phone. Even though our parents are the ones paying for it, this fact remains even today for almost every Filipino family who can afford to buy a fancy phone.

Unintentionally, we're not following this trend at home anymore. Last tuesday, my dad asked me to look for a new cellphone since Donna was going to the mall to buy hers for the nth time (tsk..tsk..tsk.. Hahaha). My dad's requirements - as long as it has large fonts for texting and has a good camera. We went to SM Marikina in the afternoon and after my sister finished buying her new Nokia unit (5110..joke), I found myself checking an N70 in another store. Fortunately, the N70 doesn't give you the option to change your text fonts. Because if it has that feauture, I would not end up on getting the exact phone in the image on the right :). Yes it's more expensive and undisputedly more beautiful than N70. The sales representative was suggesting a cheaper one but I got this feeling that I will regret my decision if I agree with her.

For a very long time, my dad has been the "taga-salo" of our old used phones. I think it was fair for him to have the Nokia 6600 slide because he is a very hard-working man. He deserves to at least experience a high-end phone with 3G capabilities, 3.2 MegaPixel Camera with flash and Large Fonts (hehe) once in his life time.

Life Updates:

Day 3

Bonding Day with my sisters (Extended): Spent the whole afternoon with them in SM Marikina. Cellphone shopping and heavy dinner @ Burger king.My sisters are lovely and amazing. They bring me joy more than headaches. I am blessed to have them.

1st Day in the new office: Graveyard shift galore. Nothing much to do. Did a lot of reading in the Internet about technical stuff on my shift. Ordered Hongkong Noodles on my long break and I'll never it order again for the rest of my life.

Day 4

Overcoming the "Someday Syndrome".Learned that I don't have to wait for things to settle down to live my life to the fullest. SOMEDAY IS NOW. I slept the whole day. My second day in the office, I had my first task installing software on a new laptop. I am decided to have a healthier body again (by this I mean - to have washboard abs Hahaha), started eating less on my meals.

Day 5

After office, I slept two hours in the car. I had to wait until 10AM because of Color coding. I hit the gym before going home. Steam bath was great.

This is my 3rd day in the office and 4th day without seeing my Budzie. I miss her so much. Thank God we had the opportunity to chat during lunchtime.

A more productive work day for me because Elix (my buddy) and I finished setting up 22 workstations. We didn't do all of the work. We had help from the IT guys from the previous shift. Good job!

SANTINO | DAY 2

Who is Santino? I recalled Jammie calling me by this name last Saturday. I thought it was from some old tagalog movie only aired during holy week. I smiled when I saw the commercial of "May Bukas Pa" and heard one of the casts calling the little boy's name. I told myself "That's where Jammie got it" including the term "Bro". Hehehe. Yeah, I didn't know until today. She also put "FATHER DAN" in the bowling scoreboard. If she only knew the things I've been doing at this point of my life.

Thank you Lord for your forgiveness, your grace and mercies that are new every morning.

DAY 2
  • I missed the church service today
  • Woke up at 11am to join my Dad and sisters for lunch in Robinsons Metro East. I was late so I paid for my food. Kala ko pa naman makakalibre na ko. Hehe.Mom went to Laguna for the death anniversary of my lola.
  • Bonding with the girls. Strolled in the mall with my sisters and cousin Ineng. Checked out some DVDs in Astrovision but decided to buy in Cherry Foodarama. Donna bought an Ice Cream while Divine and I have some "budzie" pictures from my phone, printed out in Kodak (Sa wakas meron na ako pic ni Budz sa wallet).
  • We went straight home, watched Bolt while eating Cheetos and "Heaven" Ice Cream - Delicious! Had our share of celebrity gossip/news from Boy and Kris afterwards.
  • Tried fixing our PC. The computer intermittently shuts down for no reason. Problem got worse when I tested and put the other parts from another computer. Grrrr! I was so frustrated that I stopped working on it. Fortunately, Budzie was online in YM and was able to chat with her. Nakaka-relax.Thanks Budzie ko.
  • Watched another DVD movie again after chatting. Stormbreaker naman.
  • BInalikan ko si computer para ayusin and finally nagkasundo din kame. Bwahahaha.

Day 1

I just started reading the book entitled "One Month To Live" by Kerry and Chris Shook. I'm a little behind compared to the people I know who already finished reading the book and some even underwent a seminar hosted by their church. At first I was hesitant to buy the book , mainly for two reasons. First, because of my "Ningas-kugon" attitude in reading books (still haven't finished my 40 days of purpose..ouch) and second, there was no soft-bound copy available which is 200 pesos cheaper (Hehe).

I was able to read the first chapter in National bookstore last night while waiting for Ana and her friends to arrive in SM Mall of Asia. I was blessed and ended up paying for the hard-bound copy in the counter. The author asks, "How would you live your life if you only have one month to live?". As for me, I would definitely enjoy each day and focus my remaining days on what's really important and what matters most in my life. This is my answer. Now what's yours? And what is stopping/delaying you to live the life you wanted to live.

The book encourages its readers to create a journal so here's my DAY ONE.

  • I slept almost half of the day to make up for the sleepless hours I spent since Friday night.
  • Had Spam for lunch which my mom prepared (wala kaseng lutong ulam). Thanks Mom. I love you.
  • After having an afternoon nap with my sister in her room, I still felt sleepy and was searching for the vaporizer machine with no success to relief my cold.
  • Experienced traffic Jam in Edsa (lage naman eh) from Magallanes going to SM MOA.
  • Ordered Carbonara with Rotelli Noodles in French Baker for dinner. It's been months since I tasted it.Yummy! But I still think my girlfriend's Carbonara is still the best!
  • Stayed in National Bookstore wherein I read the first chapter of the book "One Month To Live" and ended up on buying it.
  • Met Ana and Lera in the department store to do a "SHOP 'UNTIL DANIEL LOSES CONSCIOUSNESS" activity (Hehehe. Just kidding girls).
  • Bowling Game. I've never seen my girlfriend so competitive. She lost her touch down the stretch and finished 3rd place(not bad..number one ka pa din sa puso ko). Congrats to Paolo for winning the game. Good job Lera with your slow-mo yet effective strokes and Jamie as well .It was fun! I thought I'll end up last place. I think Budzie's bowling magic transferred to me. Almost won! I have "BIg Bro" on my side. Hahaha.
  • The IMAX Experience. It was all our first time. We got three tickets for free from Biloy. We watched Monsters VS Aliens. Cool movie! Cooler with the 3-d effects on it.
